Breaking News: A day removed from the post position announcement live from Churchill, Bob Baffert trained Prayer For Relief gets scratched from the Breeders Cup Classic due to a high fever. Here is the article from ESPN.
Zayat Stables’ Prayer for Relief did not get on the plane from California the morning of Nov. 1 after spiking a fever and will miss the Nov. 5 Breeders’ Cup Classic. The son of Jump Start drew the inside post position and was installed at 30-1 odds on the morning line. Trainer Bob Baffert said the colt, whose four-race win skein ended when he finished third in the Oct. 16 Oklahoma Derby, had a temperature of 103 degrees and was not among his horses shipping to Kentucky. Bred in Kentucky by G. R. Aschinger, Prayer For Relief broke his maiden while racing for a $50,000 tag in his third career start. The colt began his 2011 campaign by winning four straight, including the Iowa Derby, West Virginia Derby, and Super Derby. With five wins and three placings from nine starts, Prayer For Relief has earned $1,009,500.
I, along with the Horse Racing community would like to wish Prayer For Relief the best.
