Mike Tartaglia, a 21-year old handicapper and horse racing fan founded this blog back in 2011 following that years Triple Crown. Over the years, he expanded his racing knowledge to encompass not only thoroughbred racing, but also harness and quarter horse racing. While his home track to bet at is the Meadowlands, he calls Monmouth Park his true home, making multiple trips every meet. He has also visited Parx, Aqueduct, and Saratoga. In the summer of 2014, he was invited onto TVG’s show, The Quarters, to compete against the handicappers, coming in a close second, losing to Caleb Keller by only $2. He appeared on TVG again in August of 2015 to The Quarters, talking about the Haskell, whcih was earlier that day, as well as handicapping and hitting the Late Pick 4 from Los Alamitos. His favorite horses include Man O’War, Imp, Frankel, Toast of New York, and Ruler On Ice. Some tracks he wishes to go to one day are Los Alamitos, Churchill Downs, Ascot, Longchamp, and Meydan. In 2015, he was able to go the the Haskell Invitational to see Triple Crown winner American Pharoah in person. A year later, during a vacation in London, he attended the races at Newbury Racecourse on Lockinge Day, one of the highlights of the British flat racing season.
Mike is currently a student at Penn State University majoring in Material Sciences and Engineering. Horse Racing Station is his way of sharing with the world his thoughts on the biggest races (and sometimes the smallest). He is in the process of developing his own speed figures for harness racing.
